100 Billion Deep Links Indexed; Results Returned in 45% Android Searches

During Gary Illyes’ keynote at this week’s State of Search, he revealed some updated stats about app indexing which should make some webmasters stand up and take notice, especially those who might be sitting on the fence about whether or not to do an app or not.

First, Illyes said that Google currently has 100 billion app deep links indexed.  That is a pretty significant number.

But perhaps more interesting from an SEO perspective is the fact that right now, 45% of Android searches return app deep links.  That is huge for those who don’t have an app, especially if competitors do.

Google also has released case studies from multiple publishers with the results they have seen with app indexing, it is definitely worth a read for those with apps, or those considering one.
