Google Adds Upcoming Hotel Deals to Hotel Knowledge Panel

Google is testing a new type of sponsored alert in their hotel knowledge panels, this time as an alert that there is a great deal at that particular hotel during particular dates, alerting searchers that the hotel they are looking at may have better deals if they chose alternative dates.

Here is what it looks like:

When you click through, the light bulb changes to a rating call to action, and it switches to show the specific dates shown in the hot deals section, to show the special deals.

Here is another example, this one with different dates, so Google isn’t just looking for deals on specific dates, such as the closest weekend.

These come up when looking at a specific hotel’s knowledge panel.  They are part of their sponsored ads, so they are not organic alerts but paid ones.

We have seen Google do these types of alerts for the specific dates someone is searching for, but not as a general alert that someone might want to pick different specific dates instead to get a hot deal.
