Google AdWords Adds Site Search Extension to Right Side Ads

While the site search AdWords extension has been popping up in the ads that appear above the Google search results, they are now also appearing next to the search results as well, in the right sidebar area on the results page.

The site search extension – technically called a form extension – has been in beta for a year, but it is unknown when it might go live to all accounts.  As with all AdWords betas, you will need to contact your AdWords rep in order to request access to it.

We don’t tend to see any extensions in the sidebar AdWords results, except for the occasional ratings extension, so it is interesting that Google chose this one to take up ad real estate on the right hand side.

Google has been bringing more site search tools to the Google search results.  They recently added the ability for webmasters to add a site search box within their search result listing in the Google search results.
