Google Launches Firebase, Free Analytics for App Developers

At Google I/O today, Google has announce the launch of Firebase Analytics, an analytics platform designed for app developers.

Google’s Firebase offers support for both Android and iOS, meaning that app developers won’t have to check stats and analytics across two different programs for different platforms of an app.  It is also free for all developers.

Firebase offers full analytics for app developers, but it also includes other immediate information that is useful and actionable for developers.  One notable feature is crash reporting, so app developers can easily identify when there are issues with their apps to resolve those problems faster.

Here is how it appears in the dashboard:

It also has stats for AdWords, so developers can monitor their ad campaigns.

It provides prebuilt engagement and in-app actions that will help manage your conversions and lifetime value for AdWords campaigns and over 20 third-party ad networks. If you’re an AdWords user you can funnel these conversions into AdWords so it’s even easier to optimize campaigns to the things you care about.

Stats include first open, lifetime value, retention as well as stats about active users on a monthly, weekly and daily basis.

With the added support of so many third party ad networks, this definitely makes Firebase the go to analytics program for app developers, similar to how Google Analytics is the go to analytics program for so many website owners.

Firebase will be made available for app developers today at 2pm at firebase.google.com
