Google Adding Neighborhood Info in Local Knowledge Panel

Google is now adding neighborhood information to the local knowledge panel for some businesses.  Joy Hawkins was the first to notice the addition.  When neighborhood information is available, Google will show it prominently near the top of the local knowledge panel.

Here is how it appears in the search results:

And here is a closer look at the knowledge panel.

There is more information on Hawkins blog post on how to get neighborhood information showing in your local listing, if it isn’t showing up already.

Hawkins also noticed that it isn’t being used in the US, since it isn’t an option in Map Maker.  Instead, US listings will only show on the Google Local Finder page and not in the knowledge panel that displays in the search results.
