Bing Changes Local Pack Numbers & Icons to Purple

It seems that Bing is changing things up with new Yahoo-esque purple in their local map packs, changing the listing numbers and the map markers to purple.

Bing hasn’t changed the formatting within the map pack at all, the color seems to be the only thing they are changing at the moment.

They have also changed some of the accents on the map as well, with major roads now being displayed in purple.

Here is how it used to appear, with blue instead of purple:

This also matches the purple now present on their Local Finder page for both the ad tag and markers.

Coincidentally, purple is the color that Yahoo has used in their own local packs for quite some time, so it is curious that Bing has chosen the same color scheme in their results.  And if they were going to switch from blue, the obvious choice would be the new Bing teal color, not purple.  It doesn’t seem to “fit” their search results very well, as the rest of the page still has the blue accents, not purple.

This does appear to be changed for all users.
