Google Alerting Site Owners About Pages With AMP Errors

If you have AMP errors on any of your webpages, and you do a query that triggers a page with those errors, Google is now showing a notification in the search results to alert site owners to the issue.

Here is what it looks like:

This error is only shown when you are logged into your Google Search Console account with that site in the account.  So it is not shown to other searchers, unless they are also associated with the site in their Google account.

Right now, AMP errors are shown under the “Search Appearance” section in Google Search Console, and not under

This alert is similar to the “your site is not mobile friendly” alert that Google added earlier this year, that would show in the search results to alert site owners that their websites were not mobile friendly.

With AMP coming to the main search results soon, it is good to see Google alerting site owners when there is a problem, especially since AMP errors can take up to a week to show up in Google Search Console.
