Bing Removes Emojis from Titles in Search Results Too

In a not surprising move, Bing has once again followed Google’s lead and removed emojis from the titles in their search results.

When emojis were first noticed in Google’s search results, they did not display in Bing’s search results.  However, a week later Bing started to display emojis too.

So when Google removed the emojis from their own search result titles a couple of weeks ago, I speculated that Bing wouldn’t be far behind in removing emojis from their search results too, and it took them under two weeks to copy Google’s emoji change too.

Here is an example that showed emojis in the titles previously

They have also removed emojis from the description lines as well, including the ones with 5 gold stars at the start of the description.

So if you were planning to continue using emojis in titles for Bing search, you are out of luck.

Added: They still seem to show up for one specific search – “emoji” – and they seem to be restricted to to sites that have “emoji” in the domain name.  Similar searches for “smiley” and “emoticon” do not show them.
